The world is a small place and in order to take our clients’ stories around the globe The McOnie Agency is a member of the International PR Network (IPRN). This network is one of the world’s largest independent agency networks with members covering markets in North and South America, Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and Australia. We meet at our annual conference that this year took place in Bordeaux and part of the agenda is for members to present their ‘Project of the Year’ – an outstanding PR campaign.
We presented a project on the work we did to promote Global Asbestos Awareness Week, a pro-bono project to support the work done by prolific US campaigner Linda Reinstein who launched the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organisation (ADAO) in memory of her husband who died from mesothelioma. The project generated coverage around the world and will undoubtedly go some way to prevent needless deaths from the results of inhaling asbestos. Our project entitled “Seizing the Moment – Saving Lives” won the B2B Category 2016.
“This is a distinguished achievement as the winning campaigns are between the best in their countries and face tough competition from across the globe in this final. The project presented by The McOnie Agency was not only very clever but achieved global coverage and helped raise the profile of an incredibly important cause,” said Luis Gonzalez, IPRN executive director.
“The competition within the network is fierce”, explained Sarah McOnie, Managing Director. “We are all colleagues, working together to deliver a truly international approach but when it comes to the Project of the Year, we all want to win! This is the third year in a row that we have won the B2B category and it gets harder every year. However, winning with such a socially responsible campaign makes it even more special.”
The 2017 conference is to be held in Moscow, Russia when once again all the IPRN members will compete to win the coveted prize of Winner of the Project of the Year.
